Associate Financial Analyst, Schaumburg
POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to assist financial management by providing accurate financial reports and support in financial analysis and forecasting.
Compile financial information; assists in the analysis of financial information for the organization. Prepares periodic reports or ad-hoc analysis and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Identifies trends and developments and presents findings to financial management. Assists in the analysis of forecast trends and reconciliation of internal accounts.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT
- Assists in the financial evaluation of new pipeline and initiatives for the existing product portfolio.
- Prepare analysis of operating expenses comparing results to budget, forecasts and prior year and provide explanations of all significant variances.
- Assists in profitability analysis by product and code on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Compiles reports for forecasting/trending and results analysis.
- Ad hoc analysis on sales and competitive position.
- Participates in the process of allocation of sales deductions by product.
- Assists financial management in the preparation of annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts.
- Supports financial management in the development and implementation of strategic planning process.
- Participates in the development of improvements in existing reports and analysis.
- Fresenius Kabi liaison responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the NAR. Strong understanding of Fresenius Kabi financial system reporting requirements: BCS, Legal, FKGAN, LTP, MTP, SEC.
- Responsible for maintaining IT systems and loading of data, e.g. SAP and Cognos TM1
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Business (or equivalent work experience).
- 0-2 years experience in the field or in a related area.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field is a plus.
- B.S. in Accounting
- Public Accounting Experience.
- Excellent analytical thinking is a must.
- Proficiency in Excel and Power Point is required. A basic understanding of SAP as well as basic understanding of TM1 is a plus.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required. An error in performance could have moderately serious consequences for the business since this position will assist in the performance cost/benefit analyses.
- This position has access to highly confidential business proposals and product pipeline information.
- The incumbent will work under immediate supervision and will interact with all levels of employees throughout the company.
- This job requires long hours in front of a computer screen.
